Principal Designer Lauren Dischert is an award-winning interior designer and artist with over 20 years of experience transforming residential spaces into beautifully curated, deeply personal homes. For more than five years, she has led Dischert Design with a refined, client-centered approach rooted in both artistry and functionality. In addition to running her own design business, Lauren continues to serve as a mentor and design center leader at Ethan Allen and previously was a top interior designer with La-Z-Boy Home Furnishings & Décor.
Lauren earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Moore College of Art & Design, majoring in Interior Design, and a Master of Science from Drexel University with a concentration in Retail & Visual Merchandising, blending creative vision with strategic expertise. Although she formally studied Interior Design, art has always been at the core of who she is. From the time she was a little girl, Lauren was constantly sketching and creating, filling notebooks with drawings and pursuing every opportunity to develop her artistic talent. She majored in Art in both high school and during her time at Delaware County Community College and further refined her skills through private lessons with artist Inez Starr.
While Lauren set her paintbrushes aside for a period to focus on building her interior design career, art has remained deeply woven into every space she creates. She believes art brings life, soul, and personality into a home — whether through children’s artwork, pottery, photography, collected pieces, or fine art installations. Her interiors are thoughtfully layered with artistic elements that feel personal, meaningful, and timeless.
In addition to full-service residential interiors, Lauren also offers small residential design projects and home reorganization services, helping clients create spaces that feel elevated, functional, and beautifully lived in. Whether refreshing a single room, styling a home for better flow and organization, or completing a finishing layer of décor and accessories, she approaches every project with the same thoughtful attention to detail and personalized care.
Lauren also creates original artwork and offers commissioned art pieces tailored specifically to her clients and their homes. She is known for her custom-designed wreaths and handcrafted artistic accents designed to complement each client’s home and seasonal décor, adding a distinctive, artful finishing touch to her designs.
Being an interior designer and artist, Lauren is also a mother of four who enjoys family life with her partner, her dog Sunshine, and time out on the water along the Chesapeake Bay.
